Dr Ben Fleming

Dr Fleming has been providing care to patients on the Sunshine Coast since 2008. His special interests are medical retina, including macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy, and surgical retina, including retinal detachment and 25 gauge vitrectomy for macular hole and epiretinal membrane.
Dr Fleming is a graduate of the University of Queensland and began his Ophthalmology training in Brisbane. He received his fellowship training in Medical Retina and Vitreo-retinal Surgery at St Paul’s Eye Hospital in the United Kingdom, and later completed additional retinal fellowship training at the Lions Eye Institute.
He is actively involved in clinical research, and continues to present at international conferences and publish in peer-reviewed journals. He has also been an investigator in several international multi-centre trials.
